Youth Empowerment Program
Uganda has one of the world’s youngest populations – 78% under age 30 – yet youth unemployment in Luweero reaches 85%. This is a massive waste of human potential.
With international aid reduced and vocational training underfunded, young people graduate secondary school with no pathway to employment. The underfunded IT sector leaves them digitally excluded while the world advances technologically. This directly threatens UN SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and perpetuates SDG 1 (No Poverty).
Our Solution
We unlock Uganda’s youth potential through comprehensive skills development. Our approach combines market-relevant vocational training (tailoring, carpentry, construction), computer literacy to bridge the digital divide, entrepreneurship education, and leadership development. We connect graduates with employment and support young entrepreneurs.
Our Impact
✓ 70% of vocational graduates secure employment or start businesses within 6 months
✓ 90% of computer literacy students gain digital skills proficiency
✓ 85% report sustainable income above poverty line after one year
✓ 50% of participants are young women, breaking gender barriers
✓ 15 youth-led businesses launched with our support
When young people earn sustainable incomes, they support siblings’ education, care for aging parents, and invest in their communities.
